Don't be confused by its ground-floor location - Beer Cellar Sapporo is the first Tokyo branch of a highly regarded subterranean craft-beer bar that's based in Hokkaido's capital. The standing-only bar is nestled among the mini-restaurants and kiosks of the new Jingumae Comichi complex, so it's easy to grab a quick beer and enjoy the fresh air out on the bar's tiny terrace while you plan your next move.
A recent taplist featured some relatively uncommon selections like Pear Mary Sour Ale from Cascade Brewing and Carina Peach Sour from Ecliptic Brewing. In addition to the ten taps there are several dozen canned beers and ciders to drink here or take out. We were impressed to learn that all the canned beers and ciders are from Oregon.
Draft beers are typically priced at Y800 and Y1,200 for smaller- and larger-size glasses, while canned beers start at around Y600 to go, with an extra Y500 per can tacked on if you drink them here. There's no food, but there are plenty of other options to choose from inside Jingumae Comichi.
