The huge breakfast menu here (served all day long) covers everything from buttermilk waffles and brioche french toast to a hefty cornbread plate with chili con carne, smoked bacon, onion soup and cole slaw. The classic American breakfast (Y1700) comes with excellent home-made sausage and perfectly crisp hash-brown potatoes, paired with a nice mini mesclun salad to balance the fried foods.
They also serve burgers, sandwiches, and quiches, and, living up to their "bakehouse" name there are various special doughnuts and other pastries for dessert. And although it's not a craft-beer destination on its own, craft fans can choose from six taps of local beers, split between Hitachino Nest and Sankt Gallen breweries.
There's also a respectable selection of fountain sodas in flavors like dark cherry, raspberry and chocolate, and proper espresso and pour-over coffees. The atmosphere is closer to comfortably bohemian coffee house than breakfast diner, and there's some seating at open windows facing the street.
