By far the hippest beer bar in Kyoto, Dig The Line offers a good selection of imported craft beers and ciders, excellent music (with regular DJ events), and comfortable seating both indoors and out. Ten taps are devoted to beer and cider, while the fridge is filled with dozens of cans and bottles from Sweden's Brewski label, with exotic varieties like Coconut Vanilla Chocolate Cake and wild ale aged in red-wine barrels.
Although this isn't really a dinner destination, there's a small food menu built around drinks-friendly snacks like Spanish meatballs and a beautiful smoked platter. Dig The Line occupies one corner of the stunning ShinPuhKan complex, which is filled with stylish boutiques and restaurants and is well worth exploring.
